HS3-WAFFEN S.S. FRENCH LEGION HELMET:
The particulars of this recreation include refinishing the CKI 66 shell (Nbr 8484) with dark green (field grey) paint both inside and outside. The exterior was then given the effect of “moderate” age with a mid level degree of rust to both the inside and outside surface. This rust appears in places below the paint thus creating a stunning natural age effect. Both decals are aged to appear natural and corresponding with the helmets oxidized finish. The interior holds a Ill made, size 58 reproduction liner that was appropriately aged to match with the overall condition of the helmet.

An outstanding representation of the combat helmet employed by the French volunteers serving in the Waffen SS. These volunteers Ire drawn from various units with most finishing the war as part of the 33rd.Waffen-Grenadier-Division(Charlemagne). This division being best known for its tough, last ditch defense of Berlin in 1945. This collector grade replica is based on an original m42 shell having a subdued field grey painted finish. The surface presents a Ill aged look, having an all around patina and areas of oxidation as seen on combat used helmets. Its decals, consisting of the standard SS runes and French Tri-Color shield (of the type worn over from the Heer’s Inf Rgt 638) are superbly worn and aged so as to blend in with the helmet’s surface. Known originals are few and usually viewed with skepticism thus making this helmet a fine choice for the advanced collector or historian.
