HS5:  S.S. LAH SERVICE HELMET:

A wonderful representation of the helmet as worn by members of the Leibstandarte-S.S Adolf Hitler for
service and parade dress. This is an amazingly accurate replica of an ultra rare specimen. It is based on
an original shell having the special 1934 pattern “peeled” runes and National Tri-color shields in decal
form. Given the short time span of this pattern, original examples are virtually non-existent making this an
excellent addition for the advanced SS historian or collector.

The particulars of this recreation include refinishing the Q66 shell with black paint both inside and outside.
The exterior is given the effects of light age with an even distribution of minor surface scratching and
chipping. The interior and exterior are treated with a light degree of rust giving the helmet a seasoned
appearance. Both decals are carefully aged in order to blend in and correspond to the overall surface
condition. The interior liner is based upon an original band with reapplied leather. This leather is identical to
the original pattern and has the correct horsehair filled pads. The applied aging of the leather appears
natural and is Ill matched to the helmet.
